Camping weekend for all ages |

Enjoy the beauty of Camp Woodbrooke's location and experience the gathered community that will develop as we hike, swim, play, sing and prepare meals together.
When is it? Friday, September 3 through Monday September 6 - Labor Day Weekend
What will we do? Daytime activities will include hikes, swimming, use of the potter’s wheel, various crafts, games and shared meal preparations and clean up. There will be unscheduled times that many children will spend on the tire swing, wading in the creek and playing tetherball. Older folks may wish to take quiet walks, go help in the garden, read, or simply watch what all is happening. We will prepare meals together, play, explore the property, have group activities and adequate free time. Each day's activities will begin and end with the whole group gathering for a short time of quiet meditation. Evening campfires, singing, storytelling and stargazing end each day. The weekend begins with Friday supper and an evening campfire. It ends with a simple noon meal on Monday. Camp Woodbrooke will provide leadership, lifeguard, mattresses for bunks, meals and a good time for all.
What should we bring? Sleeping bags, pillows, towel, toiletries, swimsuit, flashlight, bug spray, at least one pair long pants and closed shoes (for walking in the woods), water bottle and hat. Don't forget that evenings can be cooler that late in the season. Musical instruments are welcome. Some people may prefer to bring tents for sleeping. Otherwise there are six open-sided cabins each with eight bunks and floor space. There is a showerhouse with flush toilets, showers and warm water. Our facilities are simple and rustic.
When should we arrive? Friday, September 3: Please plan to arrive in time to share the evening meal at 6 pm. It will be important to get your sleeping space arranged before it gets dark as the cabins have no electricity.
When do we leave? Monday, Sept. 6: The weekend will conclude with a simple lunch served promptly at noon.
What does it cost? $50 per person for nine meals (Friday supper through lunch on Monday), $25 per child under age 14 and free for children under age 5. Maximum per family of $140.
